Bas-relief
This course is available for students who have successfully completed the cast sculpture course and the first year of human figure modeling.
Bas-relief
Bas-relief is a sculptural technique that captures imagery by outlining the edges of the design while lowering the background. This creates a three-dimensional effect with figures that slightly protrude from the background
It's a fundamental technique that can help improve the student's drawing and sculpting abilities it incorporates both techniques throughout the creation process
Fabric Sculpting
Fabric and clothing are very common features of figurative sculpture. The objective of this course is to learn how to represent the behaviour of fabric in a figurative context. Through carrying out various exercises, students will learn the basic principles of the behaviour of fabric in order to develop the ability to faithfully reproduce it.
Hands and feet
In this course, the study of hands and feet is also explored, discovering the importance of bone and muscle structure, as well as basic proportions.
The trimester spans 11 weeks, but during the last week, known as "Casting Week," students learn to make molds of the sculptures they have created during the trimester.
Clay is included; however, tools and other necessary materials are the responsibility of the student. A detailed list of materials will be provided along with the confirmation email.
