About Roser.

Roser Masip graduated with a doctorate cum laude in Fine Art (1994) from the University of Barcelona Faculty of Fine Art, with her thesis entitled “El pintor Francesc d’A. Galí i Fabra. Nova visió pedagògica de l’ensenyament artístic” (The painter Francesc d’A. Galí i Fabra. A new pedagogical view of artistic teaching). She also graduated in Applied Art and Artistic Crafts (1988), from the Llotja Advanced School of Art and Design in Barcelona, specialising in “Torch fired enamelling for metal and goldsmithery”.

 

She taught at the Llotja Advanced School of Art and Design in Barcelona and is currently a permanent lecturer at the University of Barcelona, in the Drawing Department of the Faculty of Fine Art. Every year, she teaches several master’s courses (Fashion Business Management, Faculty of Economics, UB), and postgraduate courses (Life Drawing. Advanced level – Functions of Drawing in Theatre and Fashion Attire, Faculty of Fine Art, UB) and monographic courses related to different themes of drawing.

 

Roser Masip has published several books and book chapters related to the field of research, and numerous articles in journals. She has presented several lectures and papers in national and international conferences and is a researcher in several Teaching Innovation groups and actively participates in other research groups. She is the director of doctoral theses on areas of research related to the teaching and learning of drawing techniques, as well as on topics related to different areas of drawing. She has been a member of the Promoting Commission for the development and assessment of the Degree in Fine Art (graduate of Fine Art) at the University of Barcelona (2008) and has been a researcher in the Department of Painting and Sculpture of the MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) in New York.

 

Roser Masip also works with several museums, including the Centre de Documentació i Museu Tèxtil de Terrassa.
