✨Save the date✨ Opening: CONNECTA: Intersecting Memory and Identity June 19 | 19:00 Barcelona Academy of Art, C/ Ausiàs March, 42 The Barcelona Academy of Art in collaboration with UIC Barcelona proudly presents "CONNECTA: Intersecting Memory and Identity" an international student exhibition that explores the complexities of identity formation in our multicultural world. This exhibition brings together figurative artists from diverse backgrounds, each examining the interplay between their cultural heritage, personal identity, and social connection. Through their work, the exhibition challenges fixed notions of identity while exploring the meaning of our shared human experience. In an era of unprecedented global mobility, this exhibition becomes a living space where difference is not only acknowledged but celebrated. CONNECTA invites us to move beyond mere cultural coexistence, opening the door to meaningful dialogue and deeper understanding. Co-curated by Gaukhar Sissekenova (@sissekenovaa) and Tatiana Fife (@tatsmanila) Design work: @llannddau ------------------ La Barcelona Academy of Art, en col·laboració amb la UIC Barcelona, presenta "CONNECTA: Intersecting Memory and Identity", una exposició internacional d'estudiants que explora les complexitats de la formació de la identitat en un món multicultural. Aquesta exposició reuneix artistes figuratius de diverses procedències, que examinen la relació entre el patrimoni cultural de cadascú, la identitat personal i la connexió social. A través de la seves obres, l'exposició qüestiona les fronteres fixades de la identitat i convida a submergir-nos en la complexitat de l’experiència humana compartida. En una època de mobilitat global sense precedents, aquesta exposició esdevé un espai viu, on la diferència no és només acceptada sinó celebrada. CONNECTA ens convida a anar més enllà de la simple coexistència cultural, proposant un diàleg profund i significatiu.

Fa uns dies, vam tenir l’honor de rebre la visita de l’Excel·lentíssim Sr. @jaumecollboni, alcalde de Barcelona, i de l’Il·lustríssim regidor de Cultura, Sr. @xaviermarcec, a la Barcelona Academy of Art.

Estem profundament agraïts pel reconeixement a la nostra tasca. Des de fa més de 10 anys, l’acadèmia ha estat un espai on es formen els talents de l’art figuratiu del demà, creant una comunitat artística internacional que comparteix passió, creativitat i dedicació. Aquest projecte no seria possible sense l’esforç dels nostres alumnes i professors, que, dia rere dia, fan créixer l’acadèmia i la seva visió.

Gràcies a ells i a tots els que ens acompanyen, la nostra ciutat s’ha consolidat com una referència en l’art figuratiu i realista. Barcelona continua sent un lloc d’inspiració i creació, i estem més compromesos que mai a seguir fomentant el diàleg cultural i l’excel·lència artística 🌟

A few days ago, we had the honor of welcoming the Honorable @jaumecollboni, Mayor of Barcelona, and the Honorable Councillor for Culture, Mr. @xaviermarcec, to the Barcelona Academy of Art.

We are very grateful for the recognition of our work. For over a decade, the Academy has been a place where the future of figurative art takes shape, bringing together an international community driven by passion, creativity, and dedication. This journey wouldn’t be possible without the commitment of our students and professors, who, day after day, contribute to the growth and vision of the Academy.

Thanks to them and to all who support us, our city has become a center for figurative and realist art. Barcelona continues to be a place of inspiration and creativity, and we are more committed than ever to promoting cultural dialogue and artistic excellence🌟
