BAA Scholarships
The Barcelona Academy of Art offers more than 60,000€ in personal grants each year for students who meet the requirements of the Academy’s Board of Directors to qualify for financial gain.
The aid is neither a discount on the total cost of the course or a discount on the cost of accommodation:
EVALUATION SYSTEM
Students will be assessed according to their financial need, level of commitment to their studies, overall performance, attitude, and willingness to contribute in a positive way to the community of the Barcelona Academy of Art.
Priority will be given to:
— Students enrolled in a 9-month or 12-month Full-time program.
— Returning students with excellent academic records.
— Returning students with good academic records who didn’t receive a scholarship in the previous year.
PARTICIPATION
At the end of each academic year, in August, the Barcelona Academy of Art will send the scholarship application form to all students enrolled in a regular full-time course who have confirmed their place by paying the non-refundable deposit.
Scholarships will be awarded to the selected students before the start of the Fall term, in september.
MANAGEMENT TEAM DECISION
The management committee of the Barcelona Academy of Art will meet to assess the applications and designate the commitments of the students who will receive financial aid. The Administration Department will contact the student to inform them of the decision.

We recommend the following scholarships to study at the BAA:
Art Renewal Center
To be eligible for an ARC scholarship, a student must be enrolled in an Art Renewal Center-approved school. ARC scholarships provide up to $30,000 to help students in schools and ateliers to continue their education.
The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation
The mission of the Foundation is to promote and encourage the acquisition and development of students and artists with the necessary training, skills and competencies in the traditional forms of artistic expression.

Competitions
Figurativas
International Painting and Sculpture Competition with a first prize of up to 36,000€, a Sculpture Acquisition Fund of 40,000e and a fund for the procurement of artwork.
The participants, from more than 80 countries, meet at MEAM every two years to attend the official opening ceremony of the exhibition of the shortlisted and award-winning works, judged by a top-class jury, mostly painters, including artists such as Antonio López García, Odd Nerdrum, Lita Cabellut, Richard Estes, Gottfried Helnwein, Nicola Samori, Daniel Graves, Jacob Collins, Alex Kanevsky and Eduardo Naranjo. The Foundation seeks to promote and popularise Figurative Art, and its main task is to encourage artistic initiatives and to sponsor artists. In this way, the current relevance of contemporary figurative art is asserted through the emergence of a vibrant generation of living artists who create a large, steady, active and dynamic community.
ModPortrait
ModPortrait, an international portrait painting competition. Organised by Galería Artelibre, in collaboration with the Foundation of Arts and Artists, MEAM, Barcelona Academy of Art and Artemiranda, S.L.
Arc Salon
This international competition organised by the Art Renewal Center is the most far-reaching competition for international Contemporary Realism. They offer more than $100,000 in cash prizes. It has a large amount of international recognition through associations with prestigious magazines, galleries and museums as well as a strong live presence.
Beautiful Bizarre Art Prize
The BAA is proud to partner with Beautiful Bizarre Magazine for their annual art prize. This competition welcomes artists working in various mediums and styles, from traditional to digital and photographic art. Its mission is to inspire artists worldwide and support their careers by providing funding and exposure to galleries, collectors, and media outlets globally.
