Description

220 x 126 cm. Work from the series #ClásicosDesollados.

When contemplating for the first time #ClásicosDesollados, we feel that Alamà leads us to a new experience. We see a moving reinterpretation of the history of painting unfold in pursuit of the expansion of the codes of contemporary figuration. […] This complex collection of studies or ‘divertimentos’ – in the artist’s words – starts from a meticulous selection of classical works as a backdrop. Including, among others, works by Velázquez, Goya, Géricault, Friedrich, Manet or Degas. Their serenity – imposed by custom and the passivity of the commonplace – is taken away from them and we are reminded that they are surprising and living objects.
